Perkins County Senior Centers Thrift Shoppe was started in 1980 by volunteers who saw a way to earn funds for the daily operations for the Senior Center. The shoppe has been run by volunteers with all the proceeds from sales going to the center.
Donations come from the general public. We accept clothing, small appliances as well as furniture. Volunteers sort, price, and display a variety of items within the store. Most items of clothing sell for a dollar.
Twice a year the clothing is changed with the seasons of spring and fall. Volunteers from across the county come in during the two day process and remove the out of season clothing, clean the entire shoppe and hang out the next seasons clothing and miscellaneous items. The out of season clothing is donated to the Lutheran Services to help provide clothing for other people in need. The Thrift Shoppe has proven to be an asset to the senior center as well as our community.
